MJ Ross is an emerging independent electronic music composer and producer making his solo debut in 2023. The New Haven, Connecticut-based recording artist creates atmospheric soundscapes. His sound is a textured mix of ambient synths, hypnotic melodies, and syncopated downtempo grooves.

The classically trained musician first started playing piano when he was just seven years old. However, it is only recently that the versatile composer decided to try his hand at electronic music. In September he will release his debut album “Dystopiac”.

“Sky Drifter” is the brand new single from MJ Ross, released worldwide via all major streaming services on June 9, 2023. Ethereal synths and muted rhythmic arpeggios open the track. Electronic musician MJ Ross follows the path that was created by Jean Michel Jarre on his Sky Drifter single. His classical piano training was put to good use for the creation a short runs of recurring notes that take on different meanings when the back beat changes a bit. With rhythm and melody playing catch, he has created a Sci-Fi inspired instrumental that bodes well for his debut album Dystopiac, due for release on September 30.
